Online Maps for Classroom Use
I have found that using online maps while teaching can be a great tool. Maps can be created for various subjects. Many times I used online maps as end of the semester projects in social studies for my junior high students. My project required students to not only map out where different countries/civilations/states were (depending on the class), the places had to expand to show relevant information about it. With an online map project, my students were able to collaborate, review, expand their knowledge, be creative and work on 21st century skills.

This is the first I have heard of Online Maps being used in the classroom. While my preschool students are probably a little young for online maps, I have a 13 and 14 year old of my own who would think this is a fun way to learn geography/social studies. Thanks for the information!
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job on your technology resources! I like how the blog posts are short and to the point, and they include a link. This would be a great resource for a classroom teacher looking for more ways to incorporate technology into their classroom. These are all great ways to use technology to enhance lessons and to engage your students. Keep up the good work!
